Nigel Taylor
Lead Elder & Trustee
Born in Zimbabwe, Nigel Taylor is a Church Pastor who has been in full-time Christian ministry for over 30 years. Nigel is married to Emma, they have 3 daughters. He has worked in a variety of Church settings both in UK and internationally. After his ‘Calling’ in his late teens, Nigel served as a Methodist Lay Worker for a number of years in the UK. Following this he ministered as a Pastor in Australia. Nigel then moved back to the UK and Youth Ministry in a Newfrontiers church before God called Nigel and his Wife Emma to plant a Hope Church. Nigel has a heart to see communities work well and serves on a local Police Independent Advisory Group, facilitates a prayer meetings for local pastors, represents Christianity on his local Council Equalities Forum and is a Trustee for a nearby homelessness charity. In the past years he has been involved in helping churches in Ireland, Spain, Russia and various parts of Africa.
Laura Sproson
Leadership Team
Administrative Assistant & Safeguarding Coordinator
Laura has been part of Hope Church since 2005 and was employed by the church in 2016 as an administrative assistant after working for a number of different businesses and organisations in administrative and customer facing roles. Laura is married to Hammond, and they have 2 amazing sons.
Laura grew up in a Christian home and after some time away from church in her late teens/early twenties found her way back to God. Since joining Hope Church Laura has helped as part of the youth and children's teams and now thoroughly enjoys her administrative role. Laura has a deep desire to see other people step confidently into their identity as sons and daughters of God and has taught into this too.
Hammond Sproson
Leadership Team & Trustee
Hammond has been part of Hope Church since its early beginnings. He is married to Laura, and they have two amazing kids. Hammond has a real and powerful heart for the disadvantaged and was awarded the Bedfordshire High Sheriff's Award (2021) for his voluntary work with the homeless people. Hammond loves to see people maximise their full potential.
Bob Boyce
Leadership Team
Bob remembers having a happy childhood in a Christian family. He became a Christian at a youth camp at the age of 15. He and he and his wife Faith married in 1976 and they have 3 children and three grandchildren. Before his retirement in 2018, Bob worked as an insurance loss adjuster. He is a volunteer for a local charity that provides help and advice to local residents.
Bob has always wanted to be useful and to serve others in the church, and he received a prophesy many years ago which said that he had a box of spiritual and practical tools with which to serve. He has carried out various roles in churches including being a trustee, treasurer, and audio visual team member. He was as part of a team involved in the purchase and renovation of an old shop building, converting it into a church and community centre.
Since joining Hope Church in 2020 Bob has appreciated the sense of belonging to a family of others who know the power and joy of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
Faith Boyce
Leadership Team
Faith came to know Jesus at an early age. She has been involved in many aspects of church life over the years. She married Bob in 1976 and they have three children and three grandchildren. She has taken on various volunteering roles, and currently works in a local charity shop. She enjoys playing the piano, and various crafts including beading, painting, and crochet.
Faith has a prophetic gift and she has a heart for worship. She loves to encourage others to experience more of God, and to reach their full potential in Him. Since joining Hope Church, Faith has felt loved encouraged.
Claire Friend
Deputy Safeguarding Coordinator
Claire has been attending Hope Church for nearly 3 years. Claire came from a church where she has been in leadership. Claire enjoys leading worship and helping where needed.
Claire has been a Christian for 21 years after a rocky childhood and a time spent in drugs and alcohol Claire found Jesus. Claire is a wife and mother to 2 children and works in a secondary school.
Claire loves Jesus and wants everyone to know that Jesus loves them more than they could ever know.
Andy Hubbock
Trustee
Andy and his wife Kellie have been Christians for the last 25 years after a powerful encounter with God on an Alpha course. Andy runs his own successful business and has been part of Hope Church from its beginnings in 2005 moving with his wife Kellie and boys to join the Church from Bracknell. Andy has powerful prophetic and evangelistic giftings. Most recently he has an incredible testimony of how God helped him overcome COVID-19. Andy has a diploma from Catalyst Network and was an elder in the church from 2017-2023. Andy now worships at Bethany Community Church in Harpenden and remains involved with Hope Church as one of our trustees. Andy is a bold and courageous leader with a deep love for God, his people and those who don't know God yet.
Tony Thompson
Trustee
Tony Thompson leads Hope Church in Luton, he is married to Anne. He seeks to enable churches to work together across Luton, as a member of Churches Together in Luton Executive. Tony has a history of involvement in starting churches in the UK. Tony enjoys running and reading in his leisure time and has completed the London marathon on numerous occasions.
